Terms of Service

Last updated · October 20, 2026

These Terms govern your use of Shareathon, a product of Hogwild Fundraising LLC, by organizations, administrators, students and other participants, supporters, sharers, and donors. By creating an account, starting or managing a campaign, sharing a campaign, or donating through the platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Shareathon.

1. What Shareathon is, and what it is not

Shareathon is a software platform. Organizations use it to run their own fundraising campaigns, and supporters use it to share and give to those campaigns.

Shareathon is a technology tool, not a charity, and does not solicit donations. Hogwild Fundraising LLC does not act as a professional fundraiser, fundraising counsel, or solicitor for any organization. Each campaign is created, run, and promoted by the organization that owns it and by that organization's own participants, who write and send their own messages. We provide the tools and receive a platform fee. We do not guarantee that any campaign will raise any amount of money.

2. Who can use Shareathon

  • Accounts. You must be at least 13 years old to create a Shareathon account.
  • Organizations. Shareathon is built for schools, colleges, clubs and teams, booster clubs and PTOs, churches and ministries, registered nonprofits, and participants raising for their own part of one of those programs. Before launch, the organizer confirms the fundraiser fits one of these types and that all information provided is accurate.
  • Administrators and individual organizers. Each organization must have a designated adult administrator who is 18 or older and has authority to act for the organization. A person organizing an individual fundraiser must also be 18 or older. Organizers are responsible for the campaign, for the accuracy of what is posted, and for who is invited.
  • Students and minors. Children under 13 do not create accounts and do not give us their personal information directly. A child under 13 may take part in a campaign only through a parent, guardian, or the adult administrator, who controls the child's participation and share link. We never publish personal information about a child under 13. See our COPPA and Student Safety page.
  • Donors and supporters. You must be 18 or older, or have a parent or guardian's permission, to donate.

You are responsible for your account and for activity under it. Keep your sign-in details secure and tell us at hello@shareathon.com if you think your account has been misused.

3. The 80/20 donation split

Donations are processed by Stripe, a licensed payment processor, and are paid directly into the organization's own Stripe account at the time of the gift. The organization is the recipient of each donation. Every campaign uses the same split: 80% goes to the campaign organization, and Hogwild Fundraising LLC receives a 20% platform fee, deducted automatically by Stripe. From its own fee, Hogwild pays a referral reward equal to 10% of each gift to the organization that invited the campaign's organization onto Shareathon, for as long as that inviting organization remains active on the platform. Referral rewards are one level only. Where there is no eligible inviting organization, Hogwild keeps that amount as part of its fee. No individual, including the campaign admin, sponsor, or any student, receives a personal percentage of their own campaign's donations.

Donors cover the card-processing fee at checkout, shown on top of their gift. This keeps the organization's 80% whole. Hogwild's 20% fee covers hosting, support, ScriptureGrams, and referral rewards. Organizations are not charged monthly or setup fees. We may change the split or fees for future campaigns by giving active administrators notice under Section 15. A change does not affect donations already made.

4. How organizations get paid

Current campaigns. Each donation is paid directly into the organization's own Stripe account when the gift is made. Hogwild does not hold, control, or send these funds. Stripe pays the balance to the organization's bank on Stripe's own payout schedule, and Hogwild does not set that timing.

Payouts must be connected first. A campaign cannot go live or accept donations until its administrator completes Stripe's verification (which may include the organization's tax ID, bank account, and the controlling person's identity) and confirms they are authorized to act for the organization. Individual organizers connect their own verified Stripe account.

Earlier campaigns only (donations before October 20, 2026). For these older donations, Hogwild holds the organization's 80% for the organization.

  • How to claim: by ACH bank transfer to a verified account owned by the organization, or by paper check made payable to the organization. There is no minimum. We do not pay organization funds to an individual in a personal capacity.
  • Timing: ACH transfers usually arrive within 2–7 business days after a valid request; mailed checks are processed manually and are estimated to arrive within 7–14 business days. Delays can come from a bank, mail delivery, a fraud or compliance review, a dispute, or incorrect account details.
  • Unclaimed funds: we will remind the administrator to claim. If funds remain unclaimed 120 days after the campaign ends, we will mail a check payable to the organization or, if that is not possible, refund the donors. We never keep an organization's funds as our own. Contact hello@shareathon.com with questions.

Taxes. Organizations and other recipients are responsible for their own taxes, tax-exempt status, and reporting. We may be required to collect tax information or report payments to tax authorities.

5. Refunds, disputes, and chargebacks

  • Donations are generally final once made. A refund requires approval by a Shareathon administrator, and we may refuse a request that does not meet our Refunds and Disputes policy.
  • If we refund a donation, we may reduce the organization's balance or later payouts by the refunded amount.
  • If a donor disputes a payment with their card issuer, the disputed amount and any dispute fees may be deducted from the organization's balance or later payouts. We may hold part of a payout while a dispute or suspected fraud is reviewed.
  • We may remove campaigns, refund donations, or reverse payouts when we reasonably believe a campaign is fraudulent, misleading, or violates these Terms.

6. Donations and taxes for donors

Donors give to the campaign organization, not to Shareathon. Shareathon does not provide tax or legal advice. Whether a gift is tax-deductible depends on the organization's status and the donor's situation, and it is the organization's responsibility to tell donors accurately. Do not assume a gift is deductible unless the organization has said so.

7. Sharer thank-you (gift cards)

Campaign administrators may optionally switch on a gift-card thank-you for participants while creating a qualifying group campaign. The choice locks once the campaign is published. When enabled, a participant who raises $500 in verified donations through their own personal share link earns a flat $20 digital gift card, repeating at every $500 tier. This program is currently paused while the issuing service remains in test mode; no gift cards are issued until it is activated.

Hogwild Fundraising LLC funds each gift card in full as a referral thank-you. The cost is not passed to the organization or donor and is not deducted from the organization's 80%. Individual fundraisers are not eligible. The sharer is not an employee or contractor, and we make no guarantee of earnings. Provider age, location, brand, claim-window, and tax rules apply. Full terms are in the Sharer Rewards Terms.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Shareathon for fraud, harassment, hate speech, illegal fundraising, anything that endangers minors, misrepresentation, unauthorized solicitation, or interference with the platform. See our Acceptable Use policy.

Shareathon is in beta. Our team reviews fundraisers and may pause or remove any that do not meet our eligibility guidelines. If we remove a fundraiser, we will email the organizer the reason and removal date, and the fundraiser will stop accepting new donations.

9. Organization responsibilities and legal compliance

Each organization is responsible for its campaign content, statements, goals, use of funds, required registrations and approvals, solicitations and messages, permissions involving students and minors, and accurate contact and payout information. Shareathon provides software tools only. We do not review each campaign for legal compliance and do not solicit donations on an organization's behalf.

10. Your content

You keep your rights to content you upload. You give Hogwild Fundraising LLC and its technology providers a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, display, reproduce, and use that content to operate and support Shareathon. We may also use it to promote Shareathon, except that we will not use names, photos, videos, stories, or other content about a child or student for promotion without separate, documented consent that the law accepts. You promise that you have the right to upload the content and that it does not violate anyone's rights or any law.

Organizations own the data they put into Shareathon, such as campaign records and participant lists. We process it to run the platform and will export or delete it on request, except where we must retain it for legal, tax, fraud-prevention, or accounting requirements. See our Privacy Policy.

11. Our platform and intellectual property

The Shareathon name, logo, and related brand assets are owned by Hogwild Fundraising LLC. The Shareathon software platform and related technology are owned by T-Squared Technology, LLC and its licensors. These Terms give you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable right to use the platform for its intended purpose. You may not copy, sell, sublicense, or create a competing product from it.

12. Disclaimers

Shareathon is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. This includes warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted service, or that any campaign will raise any amount. We do not control the actions of organizations, participants, donors, banks, Stripe, or other third parties and are not responsible for them.

13. Limits on liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hogwild Fundraising LLC, its technology and development partners, including T-Squared Technology, LLC, which does not hold donor or organization funds, and their owners, officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost donations, lost data, or loss of goodwill, even if advised the damage could happen.

Our total liability for all claims relating to Shareathon is limited to the greater of the platform fees we actually received from the campaign related to the claim or $100. This limit does not apply to Hogwild Fundraising LLC's obligation to pay an organization campaign funds it holds or owes under Section 4, or to liability the law does not allow us to limit. Some places do not allow certain limits, so parts of this Section may not apply to you.

14. Indemnity

You agree to defend and reimburse Hogwild Fundraising LLC, its technology partners, including T-Squared Technology, LLC, and their owners, officers, employees, and agents for claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your content, campaign or solicitations, violation of these Terms or the law, or misuse of the platform.

15. Changes, notices, and ending your use

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be emailed to active administrators, posted here, and presented for acceptance when they next sign in. They take effect on the date stated. Changes do not apply to donations already made.

We may suspend or end an account or campaign for violating these Terms, legal or fraud concerns, or non-payment of amounts owed. You may stop using Shareathon at any time. Sections that by their nature should continue, including Sections 4 through 6, 10 through 14, and 16, survive.

16. Disputes

Governing law. Arkansas law governs these Terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where federal law applies.

Talk to us first. Before filing a claim, contact hello@shareathon.com and give us 30 days to try to resolve it.

Individual claims only. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you and Hogwild Fundraising LLC each agree to bring claims only on an individual basis and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, consolidated, or representative action.

Where claims are heard. Claims must be brought in the state courts in Faulkner County, Arkansas, or the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas. You waive any right to a jury trial to the fullest extent permitted by law.

17. Third-party beneficiaries

T-Squared Technology, LLC, which built and supports the platform, is an intended third-party beneficiary of Sections 10 through 14 and Section 16 and may enforce them. These Terms create no other third-party rights.

18. General

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and policies linked in our footer, including Refunds and Disputes, Acceptable Use, COPPA and Student Safety, Rewards Program, and SMS Opt-In, are the whole agreement between you and us about Shareathon. If any part is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them in connection with a sale or reorganization of the business.
